A wedding officiant is the leader of the wedding ceremony who works with the couple to prepare materials and perform the marriage on the big day. A wedding officiant is flexible and can cater to both secular and spiritual wedding ceremonies. They can help personalize the wedding ceremony, depending on what the couple wants, whether it’s non-denominational or religious, or, perhaps, a balance of both. A wedding officiant can guide a couple into ensuring that their wedding ceremony sounds and feels like how they envisioned it. A wedding officiant can lead the wedding party at the ceremony rehearsal; they make sure that the couple has their marriage license before the ceremony; they complete and signs the marriage license and they return the license to the state's county office where the marriage was performed.
